Vivid Motion presents: The Yellow Wallpaper & Tales From the End of the World
Vivid Motion takes the stage with two amazing concepts in one great dance show! This double feature, all ages show runs Friday, May 5 through Sunday May 7, with two evening performances (7:30pm Fri/Sat) and two matinee shows (2:30pm Sat/Sun). Tickets are on sale now at vividmotion.org.
Brought to the stage by director Jenn Maher, “The Yellow Wallpaper” is a classic short story often cited as an early feminist work that asks difficult questions about the role of women, particularly regarding their mental health and right to autonomy and self-identity. “Tales From the End of the World” is an original concept from director Trevor Bean, detailing the poignant moments leading up to, during, and after an apocalyptic event. The show features music by Whitney Houston, Phantogram, Bono, Lily Kershaw, Muse, Zoë Keating, and Duran Duran, just to name a few. Each act intersperses humor even while taking a deeper look at heavier topics, and both conclude on notes of hope and happiness.
