Portland Theater Festival Presents: The Thin Place

  • The Hill Arts 76 Congress Street Portland, ME, 04101 United States (map)

$25 Adv

From the award-winning author of A Doll's House, Part 2 and Dana H comes The Thin Place- a place that blurs the fragile boundary between this world and the one beyond. It's a place where the living and the dead can reconnect. Since childhood, Hilda has tried to make contact with that "other place" by listening very carefully--not with her ears, but with the space just behind and a little above her eyes. She could never tell if the things she could hear were real until she met Linda, a professional psychic who speaks with the head. The two form an intimate bond, but as their friendship deepens, Linda unveils uncomfortable truths that question the very notions of reality itself.

The Hill Arts and The Portland Theater Festival are excited to be collaborating partners for the 2023 Festival! Founded in 2021 by East Shore Arts and Mayo Street Arts, Portland Theater Festival (PTF) introduces an annual summer season of diverse, inclusive, and exceptional professional theater to the City of Portland. Locally staffed and incubated, PTF offers cutting-edge performances in intimate and found spaces with the aim of promoting a more mindful, more compassionate, and more harmonized community in Maine.
